Celebrations are central to Chettinad Hari Shree’s pedagogical vision as they offer purposeful learning opportunities that add depth to learning and foster a strong feeling of inclusion. Through a wide range of local, national, and international celebrations, learners explore traditions, values, and customs from diverse cultures, helping them appreciate the richness and diversity of the world around them.
Celebrations bring learners together in joyful and purposeful ways, strengthening bonds within the school community and encouraging collaboration, empathy, and shared responsibility. Students actively participate through performances, creative activities, storytelling, projects, and reflections, allowing them to connect learning with real-life experiences. These occasions foster respect for cultural differences, promote inclusivity, and deepen understanding of diversity and global citizenship.
Aligned with the Cambridge ethos, celebrations also encourage learners to reflect on their roles and responsibilities within the communities they belong to. By honouring various cultures and perspectives, we nurture mutual respect, open-mindedness, and compassion—empowering our learners to grow as confident, caring, and responsible individuals in an interconnected world.
Honouring the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas
Our young learners watched an inspiring video about the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers and created their own tribute badges as a heartfelt salute to the heroes who protect our nation. A meaningful activity that nurtured gratitude, patriotism, and respect. Jai Hind!
School House Captain Elections
Our School House Captain Elections gave students a meaningful opportunity to experience democracy in action. The process began with inspiring campaign speeches, where candidates confidently shared their vision and leadership goals. Students then cast their votes through a realistic election setup featuring ballot boxes and ink on their forefingers, making the experience authentic and memorable.
Beyond choosing their leaders, students developed an understanding of responsibility, fairness, informed decision-making, and active citizenship-valuable skills that extend far beyond the classroom. A wonderful example of experiential learning that empowers every child’s voice.
Guru Purnima
On the auspicious occasion of *Guru Purnima*, we expressed our heartfelt gratitude to the teachers and mentors who have guided, inspired, and nurtured young minds with wisdom, patience, and care.
Through this celebration, our learners honoured their gurus and reflected on the values of respect, gratitude, and lifelong learning.
